Facebook Marketing for Your Small Business
Facebook is a social networking platform that is not only becoming popular for its ability to allow friends to keep in touch online, but also as a means for promoting your business online. There are a number of ways you can choose to promote your business on Facebook and in order to achieve best results with social marketing it is a good idea to make use of as many of these as possible.

Put a Link in Your Facebook Profile for Social Media Marketing

The first place you can start advertising your business on Facebook is by putting some information and a link to your website in your Facebook profile page, but there is a lot more to marketing with Facebook than simply this.

Dovetail your activites with Facebook Blog Feed

If you or your company blog, Facebook can automatically post your blog post... all you do is set it up once, and then every time a new post is made to your blog, it will show up in your feed on Facebook. All you need is your blog url and these instructions:
Facebook allows you to quickly and easily import an external blog from another website.
1. On the Notes page, select the Import a blog link on the right side of the page.
2. Enter the URL (web address) of your blog into the text box, and check the box underneath that states that you agree to our Terms of Use.
3. To complete the process, click on "Save Settings." Once you do this, your past posts will be in notes and any new posts you make will automatically display.

Use Facebook Groups to Promote your Business

Another way you can use Facebook to promote your business is to either create a group that relates to your product or services, or join a group that allows you to share links. If you create your own group then you can add a link in your group description so that people will see it when they join your group. You can also send marketing messages to the people who join your group, provided that they are also useful and interesting to the members. NOTE: Rebekah doesn't recommend this, as you cannot track the group traffic and clicks like you can with Facebook pages - use Facebook pages before you use Facebook groups!

Apart from your profile page on Facebook you are also able to create Facebook pages that represent a celebrity or business. This can be used to share information about your business, promote your products and form a list of people interested in the products and services you have to offer. It is also another place to put a link back to your website, so increasing your link building efforts for better search engine optimization. Facebook is a social networking platform with many social marketing methods available. If you are starting to work with social media marketing in the promotion of your business then sign up for a Facebook account and start to use all these different tools that are at your disposal.
